This Privacy Policy explains what information WeatherBoard collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. WeatherBoard is operated by Clemmer Creek Holdings, a sole proprietorship (“we,” “us,” “our”). We keep things simple: we collect only what we need to run the Service and your account, we don’t sell your data, and we keep the list of companies we share it with short.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Waitlist email. If you sign up to be notified at launch, we collect your email address (and the page you signed up from).
• Account details. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a securely hashed password, and any display name you provide.
• Board configuration. The locations, names, logos, colors, station details and preferences you add to your boards.
• Connected station data. If you connect a personal weather station (e.g. Davis or Ecowitt), we receive the readings it sends so we can display them on your board.
• Support communications. Messages you send us by email.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device data. Basic log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and timestamps, used to operate, secure and improve the Service.
• Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in sessions and security. We do not sell your data or use advertising-tracking cookies. See “Cookies” below.

2. How we use information

• provide, operate, maintain and improve the Service and your boards;
• create and manage your account and subscription, and provide entitlements for your plan;
• notify you about the launch if you joined the waitlist, and send service and billing emails;
• respond to support requests;
• secure the Service, prevent abuse and fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

We rely on your consent (e.g. the waitlist), the performance of our contract with you (running your subscription), and our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service) as the bases for processing.

3. Service providers we share data with

We share limited data with vendors who help us run the Service, under agreements that require them to protect it. These currently include:

• Payment processor — a third-party Merchant of Record handling payments, billing, tax and subscription management.
• Cloudflare — content delivery, DNS, bot protection (Turnstile) and security.
• Email delivery — a transactional email provider (e.g. Resend) to send verification, launch, billing and support emails.
• Hosting — cloud infrastructure providers that host the Service and its database.
• Weather & map data sources — providers such as the U.S. National Weather Service / NOAA, Open-Meteo and map-tile sources that supply the data shown on boards.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the Service.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect against abuse. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling necessary cookies may prevent sign-in.

5. Data retention

We keep account and board data for as long as your account is active. Waitlist emails are kept until launch and a reasonable period afterward, or until you ask us to remove them. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction records kept by our payment processor for tax and accounting).

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, just email help [at] weatherboard.net — it comes straight to us, so ask and we’ll sort it out. You may unsubscribe from marketing or launch emails at any time using the link in the email, and you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

7. International transfers

We and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

WeatherBoard evolves over time, so we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
